Andrés Murillo

Baroque Violin

Andrés Murillo has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Pedagogy with an awarded degree at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Colombia. He started his music studies at the Escuela Superior de Música de Tunja. He was a founding member of “La Banda Barroca la Folia” of Bogotá, which he conducted for a year. He worked as an instructor in the Early Music Ensemble at the Universidad Nacional Conservatory. He has attended baroque music interpretation workshops with Stanley Ritchie, Sigiswald Kuijken, Monica Huggett, Judy Tarlyng, Adrián Chamorro, Cosimo Stawiarsky, and Chiara Banchini. He has been frequently invited as a member of the Orquesta Colombiana de Cámara, conducted by Federico Sepúlveda. Apart from playing early music, and certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, he teaches violin to children at the A la Cuerda school using the Suzuki Method.
