Juan Pablo Murillo started his music studies at the Escuela Superior de Música de Tunja. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Pedagogy at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Colombia. He was the President at the Suzuki Association of Colombia and was certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas as a violin instructor. He founded the Suzuki school A la Cuerda. He is a founding member of he “Banda Barroca La Folia” of Bogotá. He was also a member in “Canto” a music group with which he traveled to San Luís Potosí, México, as part of the 3rd Early Music Festival. He participated in the recording of the albums “Al Dichoso Nacer de mi Niño” and “Historia de la Música en Santafé y Bogotá 1538 – 1938″, which were projects led by Maestro Egberto Bermúdez. He worked as a baroque music interpretation instructor at the Universidad Nacional Conservatory. He has been a guest member at the Orquesta Colombiana de Cámara, conducted by Maestro Federico Sepúlveda. He has taken workshops on baroque music interpretation with Maestros Stanley Ritchie, Sigiswald Kuijken, Monica Huggett, Judy Tarlyng, Adrián Chamorro, Cosimo Stawiarsky, and Chiara Banchini.
